From One Parent to Another...
This is Krista, owner and inventor of GloveStix. I wanted to take a moment to reach out to everyone who has so graciously supported my business in the past. We all are definitely in uncharted territory here, both as parents trying to keep our kids busy and as a small business owner, trying to keep GloveStix busy at the same time.
I know many of you are also feeling overwhelmed so I wanted to send some ideas and options for keeping you and your kids busy and active that my family has enjoyed together over the years. I am also dropping prices temporarily on my website and will also give my email subscribers an additional discount on top of the sale price that is posted. You can subscribe to the Newsletter directly on my homepage at www.Glovestix.com and an email with a discount code with be sent to you right away.
Fun FREE activities
1) Geocaching; If you have never heard of it it is so fun, its like treasure hunting and all you need is a smart phone. I have enjoyed this with my kids for many years, when they were all different ages. Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world. There are millions of geocaches hidden around the world—there are probably some near you right now. Here is the Link to the website where you can learn more :)
2) Hiking; good old fashioned Hiking! There are hiking trails everywhere, some right by you that you may not even be aware of. I find the ones close to me by using the app or website:
3) Exercise Simple; This is a workout app created by a friend of mine who was a personal trainer. It has several workouts you can do from home and for all age groups and it is the best free personal training you can find out there :)
4) Frisbee/disc golf: Check out https://udisc.com to see if there is a course near you. It is usually at a park and is free to play. Of course, make sure you are practicing social distancing with any of these activities.
I hope that you are able to stay active during this time. Activity is so important for mental health and I cant tell you how many times it has saved my stress levels during this whole business adventure I started 4 1/2 years ago. I have been able to fight many fears by using gratefulness, prayers, music, laughter, and also exercise. So stink friends, I need you to get out there and get stinky :) my warehouse is open and shipping, we are being extremely careful and are busy sanitizing and washing things down all throughout the day. We also have our Arocide virus killer air filter running.
I will be sharing more ideas soon but if you have any awesome ideas you want to share with others, please let me know and I can add them. We are all in this together!
Thoughts, prayers and lots of love to all!
